Discover Kalispell is looking to invest in your new event or project

The work of Discover Kalispell begins and ends with the people in our community. It’s the people who forge new events, dream of new projects and create the welcoming vibe, all of which are essential elements in generating tourism dollars that get invested back in our community and sustain a self-perpetuating cycle for a better quality of life. Tourism is about the people and tourism is about the place.

One of the ways tourism dollars are returned to the community is through the Discover Kalispell Event Grant and Community Development Grant program.

Event and Community Development Grant Information

Discover Kalispell awards funds for two types of grants for proposals that demonstrate the ability to strengthen Kalispell’s tourism economy:

Events

Funding assistance for new or expanding events, or regional or statewide sporting events.

Community Development Projects

Funding assistance for projects and services that enhance the resident and visitor experience and cultivate Kalispell’s emerging brand as a unique destination.

Grant funding is made available through Discover Kalispell’s annual budget. Depending on the grant application submitted, funding is either provided from the Lodging Facility Use Tax (Bed Tax) portion of the budget or the Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID) budget. Both are collected from occupied room nights at Kalispell hotels.
There is no set number of grants that may be awarded in any fiscal year. However, the total dollar amount of grant funds awarded may not exceed the total amount of funds allocated by the Board of Directors for the current fiscal year.
The Board of Directors may, at its own discretion, consider funding applications in the current or subsequent fiscal year depending on grant fund availability.
